Is Globalization A Necessity?<\/h3>\n

In this century we are going through, all of the macro-thinking companies are sharing the same race track in the globalization competition. The \u201cglobalization\u201d concept, which continues to grow with capitalism, started to say \u201cI am also here\u201d after the first quarter of 20th century. Today, the message it gives is: \u201cnot without me\u201d \u2026 <\/span><\/p>\n

If you also have a company and still did not roll your sleeves up for globalization journey, it means that you have a lot to actualize. Keeping up with the rapidly changing improvements around you is as difficult as waltz when viewed from a distance, isn\u2019t it? What if you take the right steps and stumble? However, this is also a fact that if you do not start to say \u201cI am also here\u201d in this globalization competition, how can it be possible to say \u201cnot without me\u201d one day? <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

So far, four major revolutions have added many things into the history of human: writing revolution, agricultural revolution, industrial revolution, and information revolution \u2026 Although assorting with them is very difficult, even impossible for some when they emerge, each country developed its own formulation in time, and achieved to build a \u201clife\u201d in compliance with all these developments. The radical steps taken by the countries, prompted also the companies towards this process. Some of them started to proceed before everyone, some of them were able to solve this later, and some of them had to end its career journey. <\/p>\n

In fact, although three different dates are suggested when talking about globalisation, there are many opinions, which evaluates the event blowing the start whistle as the collapse of USSR. Of course, as there are people thinking that globalization is as old as the human history, there are also people stating that globalizations was started with the modern era actually. <\/p>\n

What is Globalization?<\/strong><\/h5>\n

\u201cGlobalization is opening the free market so as to cover the whole world\u201d.<\/em><\/strong>

Although globalization entered into our lives as a word a short time ago, in fact it is a concept, of which the history goes back a long way. Unfortunately, any single consensual explanation did not take place in the literature yet for this key concept. <\/p>\n

Wikipedia defines globalization as \u201can international integration process arising from the exchange of the products, ideas, cultures, and world notions\u201d. Probably, becoming dependent mutually as a consequence of cross-border economic integration must be added into this definition. <\/p>\n

Globalization is a Balance Board<\/strong><\/h5>\n

<\/p>\n

The information era, we are going through, has shown us that it is always essential to foreseen the next step, besides teaching us many concepts. As days pass, we are witnessing political, economic, cultural, technologic developments, and making efforts for all these changes such as trying to stand on a surf board. Because the most important factor is balance for this century \u2026 Currently, the world seems like proceeding with huge steps, and undergoing an unprecedented change. The most challenging but also the most enjoyable aspect of this is to stay in balance on the same plane with the world. Because it must be noted that only a good surfer can struggle with the waves. <\/p>\n

Is Globalization a Necessity?<\/strong><\/h5>\n

<\/p>\n

With globalization, the importance of the national borders has disappeared, and while the companies have found the chance to take many opportunities on one hand, and on the other hand this situation has brought some risks along with it. Globalization has strengthen the communication in the international arena, and helped the companies become recognized more. Well, what are the risks? Environmental uncertainties, problems of orientation, and having difficulty in understanding the market are the risky aspects of globalization. Of course being adapted to the changing environmental conditions and mass is difficult and costly, however the uncertainties that you shall encounter at the beginning of the globalization process must not affect the company negatively. Contrarily, this process must be the architect of your initiatives, which you might be able to manage every process. <\/p>\n

The global companies are the companies selling their products in the important markets of the world and operating world-wide, and although they are confused highly, global company and the multi-national company are different structures. The multinational companies are the enterprises involved in commercial relations with different countries, and engaged in trade and production activities in more than one country, provided that its headquarters must be in a single country. But global companies see the entire world as the work site, and are the enterprises, which make all their strategies and plans in global scale, perceiving the world as a single economy. <\/p>\n

Globalization increased the competition, and entailed change for the enterprises. The enterprises, which tried to be harmonized with the globalization process, saw that the change is inevitable and it is impossible to actualize this without undergoing renewal in each field. In order to keep up with the rapid change and re-organization process arising along with globalization, it became mandatory to leave the classic management approach. <\/p>\n

While the products are standardized with globalization, the competition shifted into the service field. The companies, which are not able to make a difference in servicing, have to follow the world one step behind. Today, the companies, which wants to be globalized, have become the players of an everlasting competition to render a more rapid, quality, and cheap service, in order to increase their customer portfolio. <\/p>\n

\u201cGlobalization provides us enormous opportunities in the competition of leaping forward within the development processes. And at the same time, it compels us to actuate the processes, which shall minimise the risks\u201d.<\/em><\/strong>
